Eh, I won't wait around for the boy to come back and grace me with real food knowledge. The only thing I'm good at is baking, so. These are really really easy... the original version starts with "ask an adult to help you" if that tells you anything. :P
1/2 c softened butter
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c crunchy peanut butter (un-crunchy is also allowed, but why would you want to?)
1 egg (bean or crumpet substitution not recommended)
1 c flour (self-rising or add 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder & 1/2 tsp. salt)
1. Cream the butter and sugar together till it looks all smooth and like you want to just eat that with a spoon and forget about the cookies.
2. Dump in the peanut butter, egg, & flour and stir till it looks like cookie dough. Optional chocolate chips may also be added at this point, or whatever else you want. It won't hurt them. You have to try really hard to screw these up.
Spoon vaguely teaspoon-sized dough balls onto a greased or parchmented cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes for squishy or 20-25 minutes for crispy. Let them rest 5 minutes before taking them off the cookie sheet. Cool on racks where your cats can't get them, or just eat them all.
